Volta Power Systems Achieves ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and TEI-listing to meet UL 1973 standards
Holland, MI, June 16th, 2021 — Volta Power Systems, a leading manufacturer of li-ion systems for RV and work truck markets, has completed testing with Testing Engineers International (TEI) to meet UL 1973 standards and has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification from American Systems Registrar. In conjunction with their current ISO 14001 certification, Volta is the first in the RV market to achieve these three leading standards for safety, quality and environmental stewardship, for its vehicle auxiliary power products.
“We frequently talk about our automotive-grade products, meaning we hold our products and processes to the same rigorous standards that automotive manufacturers do,” said Dave DeGraaf, CEO of Volta Power Systems. “Becoming the first auxiliary battery manufacturer to achieve all three certifications pushes us another step closer to not only setting industry standards for other manufacturers but redefining customer expectations for advanced energy systems.”
The Volta team worked with accredited third-party testing group TEI to complete testing and achieve TEI listing to meet UL 1973 standards. TEI’s certification validates that Volta’s full range of energy storage packs and their associated systems meet or exceed important electrical system safety standards for consumers and the environment.
Volta has also earned ISO 9001, an important automotive industry standard, which ensures the quality, efficiency and traceability of their manufacturing and production process. The purpose of 9001 is to reduce defect and waste rates, provide better products for consumers and provide opportunities for meaningful manufacturing process improvements.
“We’ve always stood behind the safety and quality of our products. These certifications validate the hard work and incredible expertise of our team,” said Jack Johnson, CTO at Volta. “We don’t cut corners, we don’t skimp, and when we engineer a product, we do it right. As the RV and fleet industry continue to advance their integration of new technologies, meeting standards like ISO and UL are important benchmarks for leading suppliers.”
With all three certifications in hand, Volta will continue expanding its reach into new markets where automotive-grade auxiliary power systems can replace fuel-powered generator systems without compromising performance, safety, or the environment.
