We’re excited to announce the appointment of our new CEO, Dave DeGraaf, as part of our leadership structure’s expansion. Dave brings over 20 years of leadership experience in technology and the advanced energy industry. With this experience, Dave is uniquely positioned to lead Volta into our next growth phase in new and international markets.
We’ve grown quickly since our founding in 2014, driven by high demand in the RV market for off-grid energy systems. Our systems are now commonly found on a host of Class A and Class B RVs in the marketplace, including Winnebago’s flagship Travato.
Jack Johnson, who has led us since Volta’s inception, will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer to focus on customer relationships, product strategy, value creation, and marketing.
“We decided early in 2020 that we needed to add to our leadership structure and bring on a CEO with a proven track record of success in the mobility and technology markets,” Jack said. “With the richness and relevance of his past industry experience, Dave is an excellent fit for leading Volta into an exciting future.”
In his new position at Volta, Dave will focus on organizational growth, building customer relationships, operations, and leading the company’s growth strategy.
“As a member of the Johnson Controls team that developed the advanced technology behind Volta, I saw first-hand what an industry game-changer this technology is, with superior performance, capabilities, quality, environmental benefit, and value to customers,” Dave said. “I’m honored to lead this motivated, cohesive team that is innovating new products and revolutionizing the industries we serve.”
Before joining Volta Power Systems, Dave served as President and CEO for Gill Industries, a $350M+ global manufacturer of automotive stamping, seat frames, furniture mechanisms, and recliners culminating in the successful restructuring and sale to Lear Corporation.
He also led the North America Region for Faurecia’s Emissions Controls Technologies, based in Columbus, IN, for five years, successfully growing revenue, margins, and adding customers. Prior to Faurecia, Dave worked for Johnson Controls in various leadership roles concluding as VP/GM of the Americas Region for OE Customers, providing drivetrain battery solutions for the automotive, agricultural, and golf industries. Dave attended the United States Air Force Academy and served on active duty for seven years before transitioning to the Air Force Reserves and culminating in his retirement in 2014 as a Major.
Welcome, Dave, to the Volta team!
